FORED mobilises for community inclusion and awareness-raising

WWN member FORED (Forum des Engagés pour le Développement Durable) in the Democratic Republic of Congo reports on activities since May 2024.
All three were aimed at mobilising and raising awareness among local leaders.
- One day of reflection with the Bahema Banywagi chiefdom, held in the town of Tchomia, on the shores of Lake Albert
- Three community meetings held in various villages including: Tchomia, Kasenyi and Sabe, all on the Lake Albert coast
- Five radio broadcasts of two hours, on Radio Sango Malamu 88.0 FM in Bunia (RTS-Bunia)
There are still seven other chiefdoms for us to build awareness in, in order to cover the eight bordering Lake Albert and located in oil blocks I and II in DR Congo and which are victims of oil extraction projects in Uganda. FORED continues to rely heavily on the advocacy of the people in order to cover the area.
